Justice Justo P. Torres Jr.

Associate Justice Justo P. Torres Jr. was a respected figure in the Philippine judiciary. He served as the 138th Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines from March 11, 1996, to November 1, 1997. He was appointed by then-President Fidel Ramos.

Before his appointment to the Supreme Court, Justice Torres served as an Associate Justice of the Court of Appeals. After reaching the mandatory retirement age of 70, he retired from the Supreme Court in November 1997.

Following his retirement, he served as Vice Chancellor of the Philippine Judicial Academy. He also chaired the Board of Regents of the Pamantasan Lungsod ng Maynila and was Supreme Commander Emeritus of the Order of the Knights of Rizal.

Justice Torres passed away on December 26, 2017, at the age of 90. His contributions to the judiciary and his service to the nation are remembered and honored.
